The first two days of the con were faily disappointing for me, but Sunday made up for everything. Saturday night I met this really cool artist named Regan, who drew me the wonderful Marvin picture that I will treasure forever and ever. So Sunday I ended up camped out at her table, forcing her to draw me more and more Marvins while I talked with her, her friends, and all the random people who wandered up to see what was being drawn. So now I have 4 Marvins, with one more to be mailed to me. In order of appearance I have:
Old Marvin (from the BBC TV series) meets New Marvin (from the recent movie)
Marvin Sulking (with the title "Original Angst")
Marvin and Gir dancing to the doom song
Angry Marving serving drinks to a trashed Zaphod
Marvin with the POV gun (subtitle "Happiness had been Destroyed")
In all it was probably the best time I had at the con. I was surrounded by interesting people who were around the same level of geekiness as myself, and I didn't have anyone bringing drama my way. It was definately the high point of the convention for me, and left me feeling happy.
