It's been a rough week so far. Labor day was horrible, due to the large number of people who were either illiterate and thus couldn't read their schedules to know that they were supposed to work, or magically lost their alarm clocks causing them to oversleep and roll in to work an hour late. We're still terribly short handed, and for the last 2 days the application system has been down so we can't even hire the few people who haven't looked absolutely horrible on their applications. Gah. I try not to even think about this stuff when I'm at home, but it's really stressing me out every time I go to work.

I'm also a little bit depressed about my upcoming birthday. I have the weekend off, but it looks like this will be the second year in a row where I'll spend my birthday at home. Hell, this year I won't even be having dinner with my mother like we normally do, since she's moved to Virginia. I do have a bottle of gin and a bottle of sleeping pills, so between the two I might be able to just sleep through the whole thing, and pretend it didn't happen.

Anyway, that's enough mopeing for now. I'm sure I'll think of something else soon though. Marvin would be proud.

It's still in the realm of possibility that Derek will not be spending his in the hospital, but the doctors aren't making themselves widely available to us to discuss the possibility of him moving out of there. Fuckers.
